Hi, I'm running a network version of Solidworks on a 4200 Athlon 64 X2 Dual core processor, 2 gb ram, and an ATI FireGL V3100 video card; and a 1900 X 1200 resolution. I'm having screen refresh problems (mostly when I'm zoomed in a good ways) and from time to time, also 5-10 second freeze-ups (seems pretty regular, though it happens more when I'm into in-context editing). I've watched the processor load monitor, and it doesn't appear to go over 40%.
I've heard the resolution I'm using isn't supported by Solidworks....If so, is there some kind of fix? please help
Thanks,

ps. I'm using SW '06 SP 0

Does it happen if you change your resolution?

Otherwise, I noticed similar artifact and disappearance problems in a separate thread with my FX-1400. You're not experiencing those sorts of symptoms are you?

Reason trumps all. And awe trumps reason.

The refresh problem seems to disappear when I change the resolution, but not the freeze-ups, and also the occasional crash.

I don't get it, this is a new system, why should it cause me any problems?? The biggest assemblies I'm working with have at the most 30 parts, about half of them created in-context....

There could be many reasons for the freeze-ups or crashes.

Can you open up all the parts separately.? Are they all fully resolved (including all configs). Same for all sub-assys.

It could be a network problem or a bad stick of RAM or a faulty video card. (faq559-1058)

Are you running the video card driver recommended by SW?
