Good afternoon, after my morning crash, SW2006 is now behaving a little strange. Now when I make a new reference plane at a distance of say .125, with the ref. entity as the top, everything looks alright with the new plane .125 above the top plane. When I go to insert sketch, suddenly the plane spins 180 degrees and opens upside down. Now I have never see it do that before and I have completely rebooted the entire PC. Can anyone explain this one to me? Is there any way of getting it to to work like it used to, not spinning and changing orientation? Thank you in advance to anyone sheding some light on this.

I know this answer isn't going to help you, but it has always done that for me. When I insert a sketch on the front plane, it flips to the back side of the plane with the top facing down. All four seats that we have here do that. Since I start most new parts with a sketch on the front plane, I used the marco recorder to record the process of: select front plane, insert sketch, re-orient to front view. I'm not sure if this would work for a user created plane without a named view associated with it.

thanks for the response, Joe. I don't mind the Back working that way, but this is oe should I say was, a top and also a front reference plane that was just set a distance from the original ones. They used to work just like the original ones did but you can nowgo from insert sketch on the original to the ref. plane and it will spin now. It is like it just got lost by going into the ref. plane. I am beginning to think that I may have to re-install the software to get it back on track again. Thanks again.

Thanks CorBlimeyLimey, I think I will give that a try in the morning along with an nice large hot cup of coffee.
