Does anyone know where I can go to get an estimate for processing 100,000 scfm of synthesis gas (containing H2S, CO2, and COS) to reach sub-ppm levels of sulfur in the gas? This gas is 45% CO, 30% H2, 8% CO2, some H2O, and % level of sulfur. Who supplies this type of scrubbing device? (I'm not sure of the supplier base, or I wouldn't ask such a question). Is there some "rule of thumb" I can use like x$/1,000 scf of gas (gas at 30 atmospheres, but scf measured in 1 atmosphere, 59 F)

Contact the Bryan Research and Engineering company at They are an excellent choice for the type of process you seek.

Bonzoboy,

The Rectisol is a Lurgi AG licensed acid gas removal system. A general rule of thumb is that a Rectisol AGR is going to be about 4x to 5x the cost of a Amine equivalent system.

I am guessing it is safe to assume that you'll be sending this SynGas stream to some sort of Methanation unit or Fischer-Trops Unit?

Good Luck.
