Good afternoon,
Your assistance in a heat-treatment problem would be appreciated. I have some parts, the basic shape of which are 2.5mm thick by 125mm diameter discs. The material is en36c. They have been carburised and unfortunately have distorted beyond our grinding allowance. Originally, they were machined from a piece of bar and in hindsight we should have carried out a stress relieve after rough machining. However, we would like to make use of these parts and was wondering whether they could be recovered. Therefore is it possible they could be a given a stress relieve treatment while being constrained flat and then re-quenched and tempered? Are you able to tell me will the desired case be recovered
Thanks in advance for your assistance
