Recommendations or Standards on mounting height og HMI's

Can anyone point me to an organization that publishes standards on mounting height for HMI/MMI touch screens?

Rule of Thumb, one would place the center of the
(8" and up) screen at 5'6" from floor/platform.
Smaller screens may need to be adjusted.

What is a HMI - its a control, like a light switch. The same requirements apply. I'm sure your wiring rules has recommendations on the height of a light switch. Or of a circuit breaker for that matter.

Unless the HMI is used only for setup, thus infrequently it should be on a movable mount. This should allow for height and tilt adjustments as a minimum. If it is a tough screen it also needs to be able to lock in position.

I would consult anthropometric data, and determine the mean average height, male female, and place the middle of the screen at that height, if I had that data with me I would provide it. I would also recommend providing a method of rotating a little (tilt), say plus or minus 10 degrees, about the horizontal axis. As far as I know there are no codes or regulations.

5' 6" is a good height to the centerline but you may want to think about the average height of operator at your part of the globe.
Light switches are usually lower, for small children.

There is a difference in height between a "Standing Workstation" and a "Sitting Workstation". SEMI S8-95 section's 9.3 and 9.4 standard covers this.

Additionally MIL-STD-1472F Section 5.7.2 "Standing operations". Section 5.7.3 "Seated operations".
