Recommend coating

I will need to coat the inside of a vessel operating under vacuum. The protection required is for HCL (Hydrochloric acid) and temperatures to around 300 F.

Does any body have a recommendation for the coating to use for this application. The vessel surface to be coated is Stainless Steel.

Any help would be greatly appreciated

Wouldn't the HCl be a gas rather than a liquid?

Why SS? If it ever gotwet then the pitting and stress cracking would be real isses.

PTFE, Polytetrafluoroethylene (aka Teflon^TM) seems best. Be sure that it's non-porous, either well-fused or a double layer.

For seals, a perfluoroelastomer (Chemraz® Greene, Tweed & Co.) is recommended.

As noted above, stainless has little resistance to HCl. Tantalum & zirconium are much, much better.

All our vessels used in similar service are glassed lined.
Very expensive but well worth it over time.
