Reciprocating Gas Engines

anyone out there using reciprocating gas engines for simple cycle and combined cycle power generation? If you would be willing to share your experiences and give some indications on the economics of using this plant I would be very grateful.

Hi friend,
Jenbacher makes gas engines for gaseous fuels including low calorific value fuels. Please see the following link.

We made economic analysis of various cycles, but the capital cost for such a engines are very high, so the power generation cost also on the higher side for our case. This economics depends on your country and the availability other power generation source .

I've got a client using natural gas generators at various locations. In general, they run pretty well. Once in a while they have problems with detonation -- they suspect, but haven't proven, that the utility occasionally injects propane and that this is causing the problem. . . .
