Hello.

Can I use the Modal Analysis Type under Dynamic Analysis in checking the natural frequency of piping requirements of 4Hz connected in a reciprocating compressor?

You can use RPM/60 Hz +/-20% to avoid possible resonance with pressure pulsation of recip compressor.

You can. But 4 hz is the question. Did you check API 618 how to do and what to do? What is the compressor shaft RPM?Is this a small compressor or large gas compressor? Do you use pulsation reduction bottle and orifices?
I guess you need to get compressor manufacture’s advice on the issue.
