Could someone please tell me what H and F stand for in these watermain design specifications?

Gate Valve 300FxH
22.5 Bend 300dia. HxH
End Cap 150H

Also, what does "Mech CPLG 150" stand for?

Thanks

I think it's as follows, F= Flange, H=hub; Mech CPLG 150= mechanical coupling; I'm not sure about the 150.

H typically means Hub. H is a term that is normally used with PVC fittings.

Gate Valve 300FxH probably means a valve with a flange end on one side and mechanical joint on the other end. Probably should be FxMJ.

Mech CPLG 150 is probably a mechanical joint coupling rated for 150 psi.

Thanks for your thoughts on these abbreviations.

I've got another question about joint flexibility, but I'll put it in a new thread.

Argghh -- might not be a bad idea if at least infrequently used acronyms were upfront provided with some standard or other (like key or glossary) reference, or similar in the documents in which they are used. [See current discussion also of unknown acronyms at -- you are not the Lone Ranger!]
