Whether ERW pipe can be used in pressure vessels??

Its a 'U' stamp job. Code of construction - ASME Sec VIII Div 1

Silambarasan, OK, for Sec VIII, Div 1, SA-53 E/B (carbon steel) is permitted, SA-312 (austenitic) is permitted, it is welded w/o filler, but whether resistance welded is not specifically stated.

There are other specs for welded pipe as well, depends on alloy.

See Sec II Part D for permitted welded pipe, Sec II Part A/B for individual pipe specs.
