Currently under construction building new slabs over old. 20,000 sf tilt wall structure on top of closed muni landfill. The panels were supported by deep piles when build in early 90's but developer ran out of $ and did not support the slab. Approx 8' of landfill cap and 15' of debris with natural hard soil/layer at 23-24'. Chose helical piles 10' on center. Foundation should work well but the final cost is high and we have landfill gasses to deal with. Has anyone found an acceptable method that has worked and been cost effective ? I referenced a prior post from Hayeska but no conclusion as to what worked.
