Rayleigh Damping in Abaqus

Dear All
I am dealing with a dynamic contact problem.
I have a little problem when i apply Rayleigh damping (especially Beta) the model runs very slowly. While if i dont give Beta value then it runs ok.
One more thing that am i applying this damping correctly? i am applying alpha in the mass (inertia part) and beta in the material properties.
