Hello everyone. I am new to the Valve Engineering profession. I would like to know:

How to calculate the rated Cv of a valve with a full port ball and V-port ball?

I need to know the mathematical/analytical method of calculating the rated Cv.

Thanks,

Syed

Cv is a measure of flow rate (GPM) of 60F water at various positions of valve travel.

The method is an empirical test via installing the valve in a flow rig and running the test.

Control valve vendors have various bespoke tools to allow then to develop different CV for different sizes etc.

They would be based on certain actual tests,
