Hello,

has anyone seen a document that would have the typical 3 phase fault MVA and X/R values for industrial complexes at the 480V level?

Thank you

It varies tremendously. 480V fault current ranges from less than 10,000 A to over 100,000 A. X/R can range from 1.5 to 10.

If you can provide more specifics, the answer might be refined.

The local utility here gives us the same values for any 480 service in the area of particular ampacity, which is obviously not a calculated value.

Youre utility may do the same thing, in which case a quick call to their engineers might answer your question.

Regards,

JB

It's really going to be basically a function of the serving transformer, so the MVA will vary quite a bit.
