Hi

I've run a model of an antenna fairing thru the frequency response and submitted it to the random PSD analysis. I get graphs of certain variables - accelerations, stresses and so forth.

How do I interpert these results? how can I say they are "good"/"bad"/have a certain margin of safety?

I know it's a tall order, but my associate who does the dynamic analysis is abroad, and I have no one else :)

TIA

Jake.

Recommended for you

1. Compare the resulting stress levels to the yield and ultimate stress levels.

2. Perform a fatigue calculation using Miner's rule.

3. Compare the acceleration levels with any test levels that the antenna has previously been subjected to and successfully passed.
