Can someone tell me why RAM computes a negative moment capacity for a beam using the composite properties? I checked the documentation and it does use the composite properties if the moment isn't greater than 2x the positive moment.
Unless I'm missing something, the code states that the negative moment capacity should be determined using the non-composite beam unless the slab is reinforced for the neg Mu which I don't think many engineers do.

The program will allow a beam to be composite when the negative moment is not more than double the positive back-span moment, but the composite capacity is only used in conjunction with the positive demand. The negative moment demand is compared to the non-composite beam. This should be clarified in the design report - in the Moments section.
