Rack protection

Hi guys

I'm new to this forum and require help in designing a system for the below mentioned:

Goods stored in racks in a coco cola factory
Plastic bottles, drums and boxes containing syrup/raw material.

the above needs to be in accordance with NFPA.

All tips welcome.

Your posting is insufficent. Ceiling heights, wet-pipe or dry-pipe systems, aisle dimensions, rack heights, roof slopes and the like were not presented. The commodity analysis lacks any review of the product, packaging material and the containers.

If you have never prepared a sprinkler design for the protection of high piled combustible storage, you should seek engineering assistance.

You say this is for a Coca Cola plant? The folks at Coca Cola in Atlanta have engineers on staff who can help you. If they don't, their are plenty of very competent fire protection engineers in Atlanta who can assist in such a design.

Hi guys some additional info....

Roof Sheeting Heights:
Low Bay is at 8.6m at lowest point and 9.7 at highest point.

High Bay (Monitor Bay) is at 10.2m at lowest point and at highest point is at 12.0m

System Type: Wet Pipe System.

Roof Type & Slope: Corrugated Sheeting and roof angle is 3° degrees

Products Storedlastic Barrel Containers with Syrup and Plastic Bottle Containers with and without syrup content.

Rack aisles, 4.3m - 4.5m - 4.7m
Racks: 4 levels high @ +/- 1.2m intervals,
top of storage @ 6.2m

PS. The factory is based in Africa and so am I.

Yes it is, but when there are questions that have a lot of variables in them, it is hard to get a good answer.

There may be different opionions to this answer and would be glad to hear them.

A good start would be go get the latest copy of Fire Sprinkler Design Handbook by NFPA and start reading it.
