R-Value for Cantilever Shade Structure

Hello all,

I was wondering what R-value you would use for a structure with tube steel columns.

It is a cantilever.

Depending on location, either steel ordinary cantilever column systems or steel special cantilever column systems, possible inverted pendulum-type structure as it technically meets said definition, however for simplicity, in my area (SDC = B) I would use R=1.25 which is the worse case of the above without requiring a lot of special detailing and design considerations.

It looks like you are in Nevada, which in many areas is SDC C or D, so you are probably looking at inverted pendulum for your design.
