Load and Resistance Factor
Design Specification for
Steel Hollow
Structural Sections November 10, 2000
4.1.1(c)In frames for which lateral stability is provided by diagonal bracing, shear walls or equivalent means, K shall be taken as unity, unless a lesser value can be justified by rational analysis.
What is the difference between “taken as unity” and “taken as 1”?
I have seen a lot of papers using “taken as unity” instead of “taken as 1”, why?
Thanks.
