I run SolidWorks on a laptop. In the office I have a second monitor Which is where I have my main SolidWorks window. Typically dialog boxes (save, document properties, etc) open on top of the main window. When I run SolidWorks without the second monitor the main window opens on the laptop screen (which is what you would expect) but some of the dialog boxes open "off screen" and I can't see or interact with them. I have played with the "Default/Multiple Monitor" settings in my display settings but this does not help.

Does anyone know a trick for moving these wayward boxes onto my main screen?

How are you connecting the second monitor?
I've had a similar issue, but it was when I had both monitors going. If I recall correctly, it was actually a setting in my video card setup. What kind of video card are you running?

You need to change your monitor settings back to one monitor when not using the other.
Right-click desktop/settings tab.

If you're using a docking station, you shouldn't need to change your settings each time. I know that I, and others here that use laptops, don't. Man, that would drive me nuts!

If you move the application from the laptop screen to the other, then back, sometime you will have to change the settings.

Yah, none of that works. I've played with all the stuff you've all mentioned and nothing helps.

Try:
When using both monitors, run SW on the laptop. Make all the dialog windows open one-by-one. Drag them to the laptop screen. Close SW. Switch to only laptop screen. Open SW. Everything should be there.
