Quick Poll, What do you use to analyze composites?

For me pencil paper for ABD matrix of simple laminates, Matlab for more complex ones. Trying to learn Ansys for FEA solution

I wouldn't want to calculate the A,B,D matrix by hand. There are lot of software tools out there, including a free comprehensive set developed by my company:

I agree. Use a simple program, that's a lot faster. I'm sure you can either find a free one or your organization can get one for you.

or he could just use matlab for the easy ones too, since he uses it also. but i suppose it's good practice to excite the brain from time to time.
