Hi everyone,
I have a metric U-bolt designation of M14 OD X 2 mm pitch X 60 mm long thread length and a 215 mm total length. There is a 79.5 mm center to center distance. The U-bolt is a 9.8 class, and it has a designation of "PX" after the class rating.
I was told the PX designation is the type of bolt, but does anyone know exactly what it means ? Does this simply tell that it is a U bolt, or does it mean something else ?
A 9.8 class somewhere between a grade 5 and a grade 8, right ?
Regarding the overall length of a U bolt, is this generally considered as dimension C as shown in the attached drawing, (end of threads to inside of flat portion) or is it generally considered from the end of the threads to the outside of the flat portion ? I only have written specs on the U-bolt, no drawing.
Thanks
John
