HI there
please help me on the following questions about NFPA fire pumps forbuilding services
Is there any specification that fire pump motor should be explosion proof and coupling should be spark proof?
Does the muffler need to be spark arrestor?
Is flowmeter istallation a mandatory requirement of NFPA or its an option?
Normally what is the set point of Main fire pump to start? Means how many PSI drop from the set value. For Example if the rated pressure is 150 PSI. jckey should start at 140 PSI? similarly main pump should start at 130 PSI?
Lastly, does NFPA allow to use diesel engine to start only manually? Customer says he wants the jockey to start at 70 PSI while rated is 150 PSI. I told him its wrong jockey should start at 140 PSI. Similarly he says diesel pump should only start manually. I think listing will not be there if it is only manually operated.
Please advice on the above
regards
