Hi,
I am looking at doing a structural analysis using space gass on a small 10mm*10mm*10mm stainless steel part. I need to find the maximum shear force it can take when a distributed load is applied. I am wondering if its possible to do this in space gass or should I use another software.

Thanks

I think Space Gass can only model line elements (beams/column) and plate elements. You would probably need something that can do 3D solid elements.

Agree with the above, I would suggest strand7 or similar.

You might be able to use Space Gass, if it can be represented by a 2D analysis, eg plane strain condition. Space Gass won't tell you the capacity though.

What does the situation look like? Maybe the solution is published.

do you Need FEA ?

Can you draw a FBD ?

another day in paradise, or is paradise one day closer ?
