First of all, I know that FEA is a much more indepth process of analyzing a structure or system through animation based on vibratory info, and that some of the FEA guru's within this site may consider it neanderthalic, but I am a firm believer in "it doesn't hurt to ask". I am currently trying to do an ODS on two of our synthetic fiber winding machines through different stages of our process. I am going to simulate different stages by using different size spools (different product amounts and weights) at the running speeds we use on the floor in order to devise a solution to some off our vibration issues and to prove that there are certain speeds depending on whjat merge we are running that the winder can not be expected to perform at it's optimum level. My problem is that I am having trouble "drawing" the winders. If anyone can point me in the direction of a site and/ or tutorial papers (short of contacting the software developer as our training budget is gone for this year) I would deeply appreciate it. I have done several "simple structures" thus far with satisfying results, but this is a more complex situation.
