Would anyone mind showing me how to create bolts on NX? I haven't been using it for long and I don't exactly have an instructor. I tried to look at tutorials but i still couldn't get it to work. Thanks.

There is NO need to actually 'create' bolts in NX IF you've installed the Machinery Library files. You can learn more about that by going to the Siemens GTAC support site...

...and using your webkey ID, log in as if you were going to donwload NX or a recent update and select the 'Product Download' button and when the page updates select the 'NX/Unigraphics NX' item and then from the list select the appropriate OS that you're using and then at the very end you will see an entry titled 'Machinery_library'. Expand that Item and you will find several files and documents. Now you do NOT need to download all of these items, but I would start with the item titled 'Machinery-Library-readme.doc' which will explain how to go about deciding which libraries to install and how to go about doing so and then how to use these libraries when running NX.

What Kind of bolt you wanting? I can upload one if you want one to look at.

Well, its two different kinds. The first bolt's to attach a flange to a plate. The second bolt's to attach a bracket to a plate. The measurements are 0.56" for the first and 21/32" for the second.

Bolt? Is it a Hex flange bolt? Is it a socket head cap screw? Could you find a picture on the internet of what type of bolt you are wanting. Also what version of NX you using?

The bolts to attach the actuator flange to the plate are 0.56"

The bolts to attach the clevis bracket to the plate are 21/32" diameter

I'll to find a picture that shows them well.

Have you looked at using any of the Machinery Libraries? They have a large list of fastener types which are supported, along with many other typically purchased mechanical components such as Bolts, Bearings, Nuts, Washers, Pins, Screws, etc. And if you download the DIN library, there's a lot of other stuff, like Knobs, Retaining Rings, Grease Zerks, Keys, Shaft Seals, Rivets, etc.

I don't have a webkey. Thanks for all the help though. I kinda got through it with help from an old friend.

If you don't have a webkey, how do you get your software updates?
