schedule number and pressure rating in psi?

Schedule number indicates the APPROXIMATE value of the expression: 1000*P/S
P-service pressure PSI
S-allowable stress PSI
The outside dia. of each pipe size is standardized, thus, a particular NPS will have a different inside dia. depends upon the sch. number specified.

Sch. STD: the nominal wall thick. of NPS 10" and smaller is same as Sch. 40
Sch. XS: the nominal wall thick. of NPS 8" and smaller is same as Sch. 80
Sch. numbers followed by the letter S (B36.19M) are primarily intended for use with stainless steel pipes. The wall thickness may not be the same as that specified without the letter S.

There is no relationship on steel pipe between schedule number and pressure rating. What do you mean, pressure number?

Ditto to dcasto's comments. PSI limits can change based on the material choosen, schedule, types of unions employed, etc. There isn't any direct or assumed relationship between schedule and PSI. Are you getting some of your details from a vendor's catalog?
