PWHT and Welding

Is it at all possible for the electrical current induced during welding to affect the PWHT recorder / Chart if you weld one butt while doing PWHT on the same line. Say about 6 feet away?
My PWHT contractor has stated that this may be a problem. I myself have never heard of this being an issue.
 
No we will not do PWHT more than once. Just concerned if the current from welding on butt will affect the recorder that is being used to monitor the PWHT on another Butt on the same line
