PVC valve testing

I am currently dealing with plastic valves which include ball valve, check valve and butterfly valve. I want to test them for pressure and sealing. Can they be tested by any standard procedure? Can i use API598 procedure to do it? If yes, to what extent Metal valve testing procedure, is valid for plastic valves? Please suggest more procedures.
