I am trying to redesign a grommet which is overmolded onto a cable with a PVC sheath. I am not familiar with polymer materials specifications and am trying to figure out what "PVC 45P" is specifying (the material callout on the old drawing I have). Is this a material specification, color specification, something else? I have done an exhaustive search and found the specification in several product descriptions of overmolded cables but don't know what it in reference to. Any help would be appreciated. Thank you.

If it where 45 D it might refer to shore hardness, apart from that, every manufacturer uses their own codes for various grades.

Regards
Pat

Talk to the material supplier that supplied the PVC, he knows what it is. He can likely also help you with finding a compatible material for your part.
