Putting a Detail/Section View on Different Page

Hello all,
How do I do a section view detail view of an assembly on sheet 1 but have the section view/detail view go to sheet 2 rather than sheet 1 where the section/detail takes place. I tried ctrl+c / ctrl+v but does not work. Probably a simple thing but it is eluding me at the moment.

Crtl c crtl v should've worked. You can also drag the view in the featuretree from one sheet to another.

A suggestion when you do this from ASME Y14.3-2003 is to add a label next to one of the section letters that tells where the section view resides.

Drag from tree works, but only if you have the sheet where the view currently resides active. Can't drag a view from a sheet that is not active.

Cut and paste from the Edit menu works for me.

When you drag and drop from one sheet to another, you are actually cutting and pasting. So as drawoh stated the cut and paste method will work whereas the copy and paste will not.

Matt makes a good point, but if you are using SolidWorks you can instantly find the parent/child view locations by clicking the section View or Section/Detail Label and choosing Jump to (Detail/Section) View or Jump to Parent view which is very convenient.
