I have been having a problem with pushbutton operators sticking in a Cl 1, Div 1 inside location. Does anyone do maintenance on pushbuttons? What do you do? What material do you use to clean the operator shafts? I have asked the vendor for guidelines on this topic and have received no answer.

I would just replace it just to be safe.

Use a dry film lubricant containing molybdenum disulfide.

Here is a related article regarding circuit breakers, but it is essentially the same issue. Notice that although the pennfast site says it is non-conductive, the article says to keep it off of the contact surfaces. I would follow that latter advice. We use it on external breaker operating mechanisms.
