Can anyone recommend a software package that will model pump stations? I need the capability to model multiplex stations & force mains with the output including pump run times, time between pump starts, time between lead pump and lag pump starts, etc. It is also desirable to be able to model multiple stations tied to a common force main. Any suggestions?

Haested Methods WaterCAD ( or Boss International's MIKE NET ( are two possibilities for water distribution modeling including pump stations. You can download a trial copy of Boss's software and try it out. It may also be possible to get a trial version of Haested's. Check out their web sites-lots of info on both sites.

You should look at the sewer models that do that not water models. run times, complex controls are requirements that dictate the need for RTC or real time control software like InfoWorks ( if you model is small they will probably give you an evaulation copy to use for free.

Does anyone have any thoughts or experience on the limitations of the infoworks CS software for sewer models?
