Hello there. I've been a member for some time, but have only been browsing and reading posts so this is my first posting. Here goes....
I've been given the task of reviewing a network model for a system that has already been designed. It is a treated effluent system that will be used to irrigate the surrounding area of a STP that is being being built at the moment. The demands for this system have changed since it was first designed due to the removal/addition of proposed sites for irrigation as well as the addition of supply to a ground reservoir.
Now, I've been asked to re-do the demand allocation and re-run the model using these new demands. Once this is done I've to then look at selecting a pump for the system ensuring that minimum of 1.5 bar of pressure is available throughout the system.
Now this is the part I'm unsure about. The network has two main loops within it. I obviously need to work out TDH for the system but do I pick the critical pressure point in the system and work out both static lift and TDH to this point and create a system curve based on that?
I'm going back to modelling after a number of years and any help would be greatly appreciated.
