I am trying to understand what is meant by "PUMP REQUEST" next to a "YA" DCS bubble. This goes into a "UT" that is connected to a "FQIC" that appears to control a flow control valve(FCV) based on FT, PT, and TT readings on the same line. The mentioned instruments are on a truck loading line with the pumps upstream.

Thanks all.

A Multivariable transmitter (UT) feeds a (mass) flow signal to the FQIC (Flow totalizing indicating controller) which controls the FCV.

The first letter Y can be either an event or a state, like motor running light, YL, or I've seen it used as a symbol for a PLC or DCS (YIC, state indicating controller)

I think it's a PLC/DCS pump state indication (A for alarm?).
