I am trying to simulate a pulley-belt transmission in Abaqus.

I am quite lost though at how to make the belt behave as a traction belt and not as an isotropic solid. I've read that the Slip Ring connector is used for such applications, but I am unsure at how to use it in my 3D solid belt. I would appreciate if someone shared a little tutorial of how to approach these problems or gave me some hints on the matter.

Thanks in advance

It should work even without the use of connectors, just assign proper material properties to the belt (hyperelastic material model will best represent its behavior).
