Hi,
I would like to ask the following question:
When we determine the PSV minimum design temperature, do we consider the low temperature when relief fluid flashes across the PSV? In my previous project, we took the lead line minimum design temperature as the PSV min design temperature and did not consider the relief fluid outlet temperature.

Thanks.

For proper PRV selection, the lowest temperature applicable should be used for material selection. Note that this is normally taken as the design temperature (low and high). However, to take your point, the temperature drop due to depressurisation, if not specified on the data sheet, would not be known by the supplier.

Per ISO-4126, only the term Safety Valve is used regardless of application or design.
