Hi -

I'm constructing a FEA model of a landing gear for a drop test via ABAQUS. How do you determine/find data on the Rayleigh Damping coefficients for an aluminum structure, specifically a skid landing gear. After assessing my simulation, it's clear that I need to include damping in my FEA model - but I do not know how to obtain the proportional damping coefficient for aluminum, if there is nay way at all. Any help or reference would be appreciated.

Is there any conventional way to obtain the damping coefficients? Is there any tabulated data available?

Thanks
