Is there any way in which i can make a certain time period unusable. But i wish tasks to still be used before that time and then carry on with that task after. E.g. if there is a strike.

I don't know if there's a cleaner way, but why can't you set those days to be non-working in the project calendar?

i know this sounds stupid but i tried looking for that option but couldnt find it.

Go to Tools|Change Working Time

Select a date on the calendar and select your choice from the "Set selected date(s) to:" on the right hand side
