Hello All,

I am looking to weld TPU backed nylon in specific patters consistently, and figured that a programmable XY table might help do the trick. Travel area no bigger than 2'x2'. Any advice out there?
Thanks

IRstuff - the expert video is amazing
MintJulep - thank you for the link, making our own cnc is definitely a possibility
kjoiner - Igus robots look good, but their travel size limitation don't meet our needs, 2'x2' travel.

All - So my plan was to get a CNC of sorts and then attach a heating element to the chalk and make patterned welds to produce plastic pads. Basically, two layers of thin thermoplastic to serve as bladders. These bladders would be filled up with water, pressure not to exceed 30 psi, which would cycle temperatures, no higher then 50C. Do we know of any existing assemblies that could perform this type pf weld? the weld pattern on the pads are mostly straight line with some radius not smaller 45deg.

3D printers have almost everything you seem to be wanting, even heated nozzles. Nevertheless, it's unclear whether bladders ought to be made that way, as opposed to some sort of heated press

TTFN (ta ta for now)
