Hi everybody,

I have to upgrade an Adams View Simulation to include a flexible object instead of a rigid one. Adams-Flex requires a "Modal Neutral File" MNF, that is exported from a finite element package (Nastran, Ansys , Abaqus etc. ). However I don't have access to any of these at the moment.

I have CatiaV5 but I don't believe its possible with this program, otherwise I wonder if there is any freeware readily available to do it?

Any ideas would be appreciated.
Kind regards
Philip

i think you need a pre-/post-processor like Patran, FeMap, etc to generate the neutral file. i know Nastran doesn't create a neutral file, not sure about Ansys, etc. alittle surprised that catia doesn't (as part of it's FEA).

i stand corrected ! (again !!)

but i don't think catia exports their model file ... maybe you can get it to print out a text version, which you can reasonably quickly edit/reformat with word (or fortran). i thought catia's analysis was pretty much internal.
