I am triing to program the side thumb button so that i can hold the button in and rotate but it doesnt seen to work as a center button command. Also triing to program the small thumb button for the "normal to, view" command, but does not seem to work either. Solidworks 2005, 2006.

Update your intellipoint software first. After that, you can specify middle-click option for any button on the mouse. This will give you rotate where you want it.

For the normal to view - first assign a letter on the keyboard as a keyboard shortcut for normal to view. Then, go to Intellipoint and assign this keystroke to your button (for solidworks only, as you dont want this letter appearing all over the place when you accidantly click it)
