How can i calculate the vapour pressure of produced water leaving an offshore production separator. My process simulator predicts it to be as per pure water but I'm not convinced that the somulator is accounting for dissolved gases.

Thanks.

the amount of dissolved gas will depend on your system pressure and temperature

Hey CESquirrel,

The simulator is modeling as an VLLE ideal mixture, and maybe a free water solubility for the LLE split These are simple but common assumptions and so the gases will not dissolve by those mathematics. You must use Henry's law to estimate the concentration of light gases in the water phase.

Best wishes,
Sshep

I agree with sshep - use Henry's law
