Problems with assemblies in assemblies

Hi there,
I created a new assembly that im trying to insert two different assemblies into. However, the problem arises when I insert the second assembly. It appears to lose all its mates and scatters throughout the workspace. Is this a rebuild error? It doesnt detect any in the assemblies?

any comments would be great. thank you!
