Last week we updated our computers to use Windows XP. Our Solid Edge files are stored on a network drive running under Windows 2000. Since the update we are having difficulty retrieving and opening the Solid Edge files from our network. Previously, when I was running Windows 2000 on my workstation, I had no problem.
Symptoms: 1) After initially turning on my workstation and logging on, I can open any file (par, asm, dft, etc) without difficulty. If I close the file, and then try to re-open it, there is a very long delay before it opens. Close the file again, then try to reopen the file for a third time, an error message comes up saying the file is in use and that it can't be edited or saved. 2) If I store the file on my local drive, I have no problems in saving or retrieving the file. 3) If I open the network stored file only from Microsoft's 'Explorer' window, and not from within Solid Edge then there are no problems. 4) We tried running Solid Edge in a Window's 2000 mode (simulation through Windows XP) and problem remained. No other program is giving us any problems with file retrieval. 5) After the problem occurs, I can restart my computer which resets the file to read-write,and I can again edit and save the file. The problem however starts all over again.
Anybody else have any similar problems and if so, how were you able to resolve it?
