Can anyone comment on how Ansys Mechanical 7.0 is used in conjunction with Pro/E 2001? More specifically, what are the best ways to use Ansys with Pro. I am new to FEA and am trying to understand how Ansys is integrated to work with Pro, in a way that lets you have full associativity between the Pro/E model, and the Ansys model.

Go to

D:\ANSYS7\v70\ANSYS\bin\intel\ANS_ADMIN

and configure ANSYS for Pro Engineer 2001. After this you can invoke ANSYS form Pro/Engineer 2001 session but only in part mode. For Assembly mode tranfer ANSYS DesignSpace 7.0 is best.
