Hi all,

I have an issue printing in 3D in CAD. I use the "hide" command and it shows a real-life view of the object. However, when I print it returns to a basic wire frame drawing.
Any ideas?

Hi Mike,

You didn't mention if you were plotting from paper space or model space, if it's the former, make sure you have the shadeplot option set to hidden for your viewport, if you are plotting from model space, set this option in the plot dialog box.

If you are printing from PaperSpace, check the properties of the viewport.

In paperspace, bring up the properties of the viewport and make sure the hideplot is on.

If your printing from model space there is a button in the plot dialog box for hide objects. You want it checked.
When working in 3d AutoCAD especially with round objects, I like to use these settings.

dispsilh=1
hideprecision=1
isolines=0
facetres=.5
