Hi..
I am trying to model prstressed concrete beams (Pre-tensioned beam). I uses (*initial condition) commend for the initial stress of the bar(tendon), but for that case the strain of the bar still zero even though there is stress.
I am just wondering which way is the best for the prestressed concrete beams. Thanks.

Best regards,
Han Tae Choi

Don't forgor there is also a balancing compression in the concrete, as well in tension in the bars.

Thank you for answer.
Then, for the calculation of the real strain of the bars, should the initial strain (fs/Es) due to prestressing be added to the resultant strain?
