Hi,
I'm looking for information about pressure testing on piping and pressure vessels in service, so I have some questions I want to ask you.
Are you performing pressure tests on pressure devices in service?
What is the frequency between following pressure tests?
I'm obligated by law to perform pressure test periodically to check structural integrity of pressure devices. A frequency of testing for pressure vessels depends on fluid, design pressure and capacity, and for piping depends on diameter, fluid and design pressure.
I would like to know if Poland is the only one country where such tests are performed during lifetime of plant? I often hear from one man who call himself as an expert, that in any other country in the world no one do this. I don't believe him, so I'm asking you.
I would be very grateful for information how does it look in your country. Maybe you can tell me, where can I find your local regulations, if there are any?

Regards

Not the case in the O&G plants in California as I knew.
What's the service for, and what are the compliant code or standard?

It's gas plant designed and built according to EN 13480.

Not come across it in O&G in UK or Middle East and can't imagine practicalty and cost as well as the benefit as I would think integrity is managed via surveillance program. I would imagine the frequency would be during planned shutdown every 5 years or so but would considerably add to schedule and lost production.

Only way to do it safely would be to bypass and valve off the portion being tested and pressurize it with compressed air. If equipment needs to be shut down, rent truck mounted similar or equivalent capacity equipment and temporarily connect and operate.

Most facilities conduct an annual inspection, not a pressure test.
