Hi,

Does anybody have maximum allowable pressures at elevated temperatures for Nylon PA 12/G Ball Valve seat materials, or references to reliable graphs/tables?
I know it's also related to the diameter. In our application it's for a NPS 2" Ball Valve.
The charts I already have are generic and/or commercial not based on diameters.

Any help will be very much appreciated.
Thanks in advance.

Regards.

Just wondering,

Being a seat, a non-pressure retaining component, I would have thought the temperature, rather than the pressure would be the critical parameter?

Also, what information do your graphs have?

Hi,
Thanks for your reply

The seat in a ball valve is the main sealing component and will be exposed to the temperature as well as the pressure. Therefore, in order to determine the correct seat material, these parameters should be combined. At higher temps the maximum allowable working pressure is lower.
But also the diameter (sealing area) is a parameter which is often not considered. The graphs I have shows pressure limitations decreasing at up going temperatures, but again not considering the diameter.

So, if anaybody could help me, or have references, I will appreciate it.

Thanks in advance.

Regards.
